SEÑORÍA DE SARRÍA

SEÑORÍO DE SARRÍA

Founded in 1953 and located in Puente la Reina along the Camino de Santiago, Bodegas de Sarría crafts expressive wines from estate vineyards steeped in centuries of viticultural history. The estate belongs to Grupo Bornos and represents the essence of Navarra’s winemaking heritage.

Though officially established in the mid-20th century, the origins of Bodegas de Sarría date back centuries, with historical records linking the estate to the 16th century and to the family of Saint Francis Xavier. The winery lies in an area that has long been ideal for vine cultivation thanks to its climate, soil diversity, and privileged location in the heart of Navarra.

The estate's 100 hectares of vineyards extend across the hills of Puente la Reina, Olite, and Corella, planted with Garnacha, Graciano, Mazuelo, Tempranillo, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Many of the vines are over 60 years old, producing grapes of outstanding quality.

Since 2006, the winery has been under the technical direction of Milagros Rodríguez, who emphasizes minimal intervention, gentle vinification, and attention to detail. Her philosophy is grounded in the belief that "great wine begins in the vineyard," and every plot is treated individually to preserve the authenticity of each variety.

Winemaking Philosophy & Vineyard Practices

  • 100% estate-grown fruit

  • Dry-farmed old vines: 60+ years (Garnacha, Graciano, Tempranillo), 25+ years (Chardonnay), 10+ years (Cabernet)

  • Precision viticulture with plot-by-plot care

  • Sustainable farming and minimal intervention in the cellar

  • Gentle vinification to enhance fruit purity
