SAN MARTÍN

Founded in 1914, Bodega San Martín de Unx is the oldest continuously operating cooperative winery in Spain. Located in Baja Montaña, Navarra, the winery embodies a legacy of viticultural dedication with over a century of uninterrupted tradition.

As a cooperative, the winery is made up of about 80 grower-members who cultivate more than 500 hectares of vineyards. The average vine age exceeds 25 years, with dry-farmed vines on hillsides and terraces and some irrigated plots at lower altitudes. The unique surrounding vegetation and mountain-influenced climate give the wines a distinctive balsamic freshness and remarkable intensity.

The winery’s identity is built around Garnacha, the region’s flagship variety, which thrives in this terroir and expresses both varietal purity and local typicity. The vineyard’s natural conditions and the cooperative's traditional, low-intervention farming methods prioritize quality and sustainability, while reinforcing the social fabric of the village.

Winemaker Gonzalo Celayeta, a passionate advocate of Garnacha and native viticulture, uses minimal intervention techniques to ensure the vineyard takes center stage in every wine.

Castillo de Ferrate
