PRINCIPE DE VIANA

Founded in 1983 and named after the historic title granted by the Kings of Navarra, Bodegas Príncipe de Viana is a benchmark for quality and innovation in the region. With 600 hectares of estate vineyards and annual production of 7 million bottles, it is one of Navarra’s most recognized and internationally distributed wineries.

Príncipe de Viana blends tradition with cutting-edge viticulture and sustainability. Inspired by the title given by King Charles III of Navarre to his grandson, the name evokes a royal legacy of heritage and excellence.

Today, around 60% of the winery’s production is exported, supported by an extensive R&D strategy to face climate challenges and advance sustainable practices. Some vineyards are certified organic, and the entire operation is focused on sustainable vineyard management.

The winery’s I+D initiatives include:

CLIMAVIN: Precision viticulture using vineyard sensors and climate stations to reduce water and energy use by 20–30%.
BIGSOTSBIOMA: A big data project focused on soil health and biodiversity through microbiome analysis and smart water-soil-plant monitoring.
BIOVID: Sustainable biological protection against botrytis using naturally occurring yeast strains as an alternative to synthetic treatments.

All vineyards are trellised and south-facing, harvested in September.

Our Wines

Albret La Loma Garnacha
Made from old-vine Garnacha grown on slopes, this wine shows intense red fruit, wild herbs, and mineral notes. Polished tannins and a long, balanced finish define its mountain elegance.
Albret La Viña de mi Madre
A tribute wine made from select old-vine Tempranillo. Rich and expressive with notes of blackberry, cocoa, and toasted spice. Full-bodied and complex with great aging potential.
Príncipe de Viana Edición Rosado
A pale, elegant rosé with aromas of rose petals, strawberry, and white peach. Fresh and vibrant with a clean, crisp finish.
Príncipe de Viana Edición Tinto
A modern blend of Syrah and Tempranillo. Fruit-forward with hints of violet, licorice, and spice. Smooth and approachable, with subtle oak and good length.
